Week 2 (Mexico Training Center CCM - Mexico City, Mexico) So Surreal, I'm in Mexico!
¡Hola!
Hope everyone is doing well!
Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday I was still in Home MTC! It went by so fast but so slow because I knew I was going to be flying to México that week! Wednesday was a travel preparation day so I packed and unpacked then packed again haha! Wednesday night I said goodbye to my brothers and then went to bed super early.
Thursday morning my parents and I woke up at 2:45 am to get to the airport for my first flight. We cried pretty hard, by we I mean me and my mom lol. Luckily we saw another missionary in line and he was on my flight! There was also another Elder on my flight as well. I was pretty nervous to be alone so I'm very happy I wasn't! First flight was Kansas to Atlanta, it was okay a little bit of turbulence. Once we landed we had to quickly get to my gate because we got off the plane at 8:40 am and my flight was boarding at 8:50 am. Before we got off the plane I said a quick prayer hoping I would make it in time. We got off the plane and rushed to my gate, we had to ride on a subway type thing for 4 stops before we got off on our stop. We got to my gate only to find out it was delayed! I definitely would have made it on my flight but I'm very happy it was delayed. We walked around the airport to find food. We ended up eating Crepes, they were pretty good. The Elders had a different flight, so we parted ways and I flew to México!
Arriving in México was so surreal! I couldn't believe I was in México! It was so cool. We got to the MTC around 3 or 4 pm, met the President of the MTC and his wife. We got our phones and all our information for how to find our apartments and then I got to meet my companion!
Then next few days were all finding classes and devotionals! My district is great, we get a long super well and it's a lot of fun! Plus all the Sister missionaries (Hermana's) love hugs so I'm never too far from a hug.
In other news, me and my companion are STL's (sister training leaders) we are over our entire branch for church and have tons of meetings and look out for all the other Hermanas in our branch! It was crazy, I had no idea we were gonna get called as STL's. We had interviews with our branch president, his counselors, and their wives. Then they pulled a few of us out and announced the new Zone leaders, District leaders, House leaders and Sister training leaders.
The food is okay, not too bad. Some days it's not very good lol but most of the time it's good! México is so pretty, and the weather is always super nice! That's pretty much it, lots of Spanish, lots of devotionals, tons of fun!
We went to the temple today it was gorgeous! A very spiritual moment! Something that I love that always helps me feel the spirit is that we sing a hymn whenever we have the chance. Me and my roommates decided to join the Missionary Choir and we sang at a Devotional, it was super cool and very moving!
