Week 16 (Orlando, Florida) Solo Español
Hey everyone!!! How are yall?
I'm doing great as always so let's get right into it!
Sweets:
- ZONE CONFERENCE!! I love zone conf. cuz then I get to see all my friends and make new friends and this time I actually had friends to see cuz I've made so many new missionary friends and I absolutely adore all of them! it was super inciteful and very fun!
- met some cool friends and had absolutely FIRE lessons with the friends we are currently teaching!
- 2 baptisms coming up! Saturday and Sunday!!! So stay tuned for next pday:)
- Saturday we had a lesson with one our friends and my comp and I had planned to put her on date for baptism! so i thought my comp was going to extend the invitation but she looked at me and gave me a little nod saying like ok ur turn, so in the best Spanish I could muster up, I invited her to be baptized and........she ACCEPTED!! how crazzzyyyy. I was in fact so proud of myself!
- oh and the cutest thing! one day ALL of our lessons canceled and one friend said he didn't want to continue coming to church:(, so we decided to go get ice cream from Coldstone and we were in line and family was in front of us, they went to go pay and then little girl turned around and says "hi sister missionaries" it was the cutest thing ever! then when they were leaving the girl comes over to us and hands us a GIFTCARD, so we gave her a hug and said thank you and bye to her family, it was the best!
Sours:
- actually not many at all just lessons being canceled but that's really it!
Pensamiento espiritual:
So this past Sunday one of the members his name is Raul (we love Raúl) told me my face was red(like boi what) and then i told him that I was nervous because we had 10 FRIENDS PULL UP!!! and he asked me why I was nervous and I told him (this is all in Spanish btw) that it's because my Spanish isn't very good. And he was like no you have great Spanish don't say that. So I said ok, he walked away and then he came back and said no more saying you have bad Spanish, you're Spanish is so good and no matter what as long as you try and show heavenly father you are trying, you'll be okay and you will always have heavenly father with you! How tender right? He definitely boosted my confidence and I talked as much as I could to everyone! Then after church the Elders I ward share with had a baptism! And Raul calls me over and says that I am no longer allowed to speak English! solo Español from now on and it's giving me flashbacks from the CCM(shoutout my ccm peeps). But what really struck me was my progression. I watched a video of myself speaking Spanish my first day in home mtc and I was astonished by how much I've actually grown! I cant always see it but my progression is insane and I am extremely grateful that my Heavenly Father has blessed me with the skills to not only understand our friends but talk to them and know them on a deeper level!
I love you all! I would love to hear from you guys:) Email me at gabriella.bailey@missionary.org
