Week 60/61 of 78 (Orlando, Florida) Transferred! & God can make weak things become strong for His purposes
hola hola a todos!!!! Como estann???
Yes I am alive! And these past 2 weeks have been packed! So let's dive right in!
I was going to try and prepare yall for transfers but then I forgot to write my email, whoops (sorry dad).
Well here's the news....drumroll please.....I got TRANSFERRED!
I am now back in Leesburg! I served in a branch in Leesburg 2 transfers ago but now I'm in a different area and it's completely new! My companion (Hermana Vazquez) and I are opening the area. We are the first Spanish missionaries to be in this area! It's been super fun.
Sweets:
- had some pretty bus member meals before the transfer and after the transfer had some good food too!
- one of the first days, we had a chapel tour with our friend Randy! He is so cool, he came to church AND stayed for a baptism after, and he loved it! We invited him to be baptized but wants to learn more! Please keep Randy in your prayers!
- first Sunday was good! Everyone is so excited to have sisters in the ward! And the first couple of days, everyone was telling us where to find Spanish speakers, they have given us sooo many referrals and people to visit! This ward is full of missionaries!
- annndddd I love my new companion, she is sooooo amazing!!!
Sours:
- had to say goodbye to Hermana Idiart (mi mama) I hope she reads this but maybe not. Hermana Idiart has completely changed my life. I couldn't have asked for a better trainer. She didn't make me feel less than others even though I was super new to the mission. She listened to my ideas, and took them in heart and we achieved them. She is the most hardworking person I have ever met. I can't imagine how my life would be without her, and if I never served a mission, I would've never met her.
- not necessarily a sour but because of the area I am in now, I go to church in English but because we have friends there, we have to translate and let's just say my translating skills are not good but I'm excited to increase this skill!
- first day in the area (Thursday) we had absolutely nothing, we planned on paper and in the calendar app and we had no friends to teach or anything!
Pensamiento espiritual:
Something I've been focusing on this week is recognizing my weaknesses! I am human and I make mistakes but that's okay! In one of my personal studies I read Ether 12:27! Which talks about how Christ can make our weaknesses strengths when we humble ourselves before him and show effort to change! This struck my heart because now that I'm in an area where we have to translate for church, I've noticed A LOT of my weaknesses but if I show Christ that I'm willing to work hard, my weakness will become strengths! And I can promise you all that if you look to the Lord and humble yourselves, He can make your weaknesses strengths too!
Ether 12:27
27 And if men come unto me I will show unto them their weakness. I give unto men weakness that they may be humble; and my grace is sufficient for all men that humble themselves before me; for if they humble themselves before me, and have faith in me, then will I make weak things become strong unto them.
Love you like Jesus
